Grief Australia | Online Workshop: Supporting the Grief and Loss of Older Adults

This workshop is designed for all staff who work with older adults including aged care staff, nurses, pastoral care workers, social workers or therapists.

Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:

• Identify common grief reactions and the various losses affecting older adults.
• Use grief and loss theories and models to support grieving older adults.
• Implement interventions and strategies to support older adults who are grieving.

Jo Baker is a Specialist Bereavement Counsellor, Support Group Coordinator, Clinical Supervisor and Trainer at the Australian Centre for Grief and Bereavement (ACGB). She provides bereavement counselling, coordinates online bereavement support groups, delivers customised training and workshops and develops resources.

Jo previously worked as a Registered Nurse and Midwife and volunteered at PANDA (Perinatal Anxiety and Depression Australia) in Melbourne.
