Comprehensive Health Assessment of the Older Person Workshop (Workshop 15: Loddon-Mallee – Echuca)

FreeManaged by the Victorian Department of Health through the Commonwealth Government’s Strengthening Medicare – Supporting Older Australians initiative, the Australian Centre for Evidence Based Aged Care (ACEBAC) at La Trobe University will be holding 140 three-day workshops for nurses who work in all Victorian residential aged care services. The workshop includes interactive, hands-on skills development, aided by simulation manikins.
The Comprehensive Health Assessment of the Older Person workshop provides nurses with content and skills development in the areas of:
• clinical reasoning and general assessment skills
• communication of assessment – professional issues
• musculoskeletal assessment
• nutrition, metabolism and elimination assessment
• cardiovascular assessment
• respiratory assessment
• cognitive and perceptual assessment
• psychosocial assessment
