SUMMARY:Webinar Series on Ageing | Intergenerational programs in aged care: How to set it up
DESCRIPTION:Intergenerational programs are programs which bring people from different generations together to participate in purposeful activities that are beneficial to all involved. The aim is to reconnect generations that may have lost touch.\nFor older people\, the programs have had a positive impact on their health and well-being with enjoyment and improved mood\, and for children there has been an increase in confidence and communication skills. Frailty\, cognitive impairment\, depression\, loneliness are all major issues for older people\, significantly affecting quality of life\, and finding ways to address these in a positive and acceptable way is extremely important as the older population grows

SUMMARY:Palliative Care & Cultural Safety
DESCRIPTION:An informative free webinar for all workers in the aged care sector. Hear from expert speakers and participate in a Q&A session. \nProviding cultural safety to individuals receiving palliative care in a community or aged care setting involves delivering respectful\, inclusive and person-centred care that honours their cultural beliefs\, traditions and identity. Cultural safety for individuals receiving palliative care in an aged care setting is embedded in the Aged Care Act and Strengthened Quality Standards. This webinar will examine the Standards and what is expected from care providers as well as providing a deeper understanding of the complexity of working with multi-faith individuals from CALD backgrounds. This webinar will help to explore: \n\nhow culture and language impact the way people might access or use palliative care\nthe important questions we should be asking older people when planning for their palliative care needs.

SUMMARY:Grief Australia workshop | Placing our footsteps beside and together
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nThe presentation will be delivered as a Storytelling as Healing and as Education\, I am hoping this approach invites practitioners into an experience that data and theory cannot convey. Storytelling plays a dual role in palliative care\, trauma and grief as both healer and educator. It helps bereaved people make sense of loss by giving shape to overwhelming emotions\, reducing isolation through shared connection\, and supporting an ongoing bond with the deceased through memory\, meaning\, and place. At the same time\, grief stories teach others what mourning really looks like\, often nonlinear and culturally shaped\, making hidden or disenfranchised grief more visible\, improving “grief literacy\,” and modelling how to listen with empathy rather than trying to fix or rush the palliative care and bereaved person’s experience. \nType: Live webinar via Zoom\nDate and Time: Thursday 23 April 2026\, 10:00am – 11:30am AEST\nPresenter: Kathryn Hooper\nLevel: Introductory and Intermediate\nAudience: Professionals and the general public.\nPrice: Members $50 and Non-Members $75\nSpecial discounts may be available for group bookings and students.
