Palliative Approach to Aged Care – PEPA Workshop

For health care professionals working in aged care with limited or no palliative care experience.

In this workshop, you will acquire knowledge, skills and confidence in providing palliative care for people with a life-limiting illness, and their families. Topics include:

  • Principles of palliative care
  • Communication
  • Providing care
  • Advance care planning
  • End-of-life care
  • Caring for yourself

Aim of the workshop:

To develop an understanding of a palliative approach for people with a life-limiting illness and their families.

Target audience:

Health care professionals working in aged care with limited or no palliative care experience.

Facilitator:

Fiona McLeod – Nurse Practitioner Palliative Care & Project Officer PEPA Victoria.  Fiona has many years of experience working with people living with life limiting illnesses across all settings.

When: 5 May 9.00am – 4.00pm (registration from 9.00am for 9.30aPEPAm start).
