FOR ONCOLOGY AND PALLIATIVE CARE CLINICIANS
This 3-day Clinical Consultation Skills Retreat is designed specifically to enhance core communication skills and mentoring capabilities for clinical scenarios, including delivering bad news and discussing end- of-life care.
Conducted by Cancer Council Victorian in partnership with Deakin University the third iteration of this program will be held at the spectacular RACV Torquay Resort.
Through small group activities, facilitated by expert clinicians, participants address communication challenges from their own clinical practice with simulated patients. This retreat provides a safe environment, guided by expert cancer clinicians, to really work on the difficult conversations and come away with enhanced skills.
Areas of focus include:
- Delivering bad news
- Managing mismatched expectations
- Determining goals of care
- Discussing end-of-life care
When: Costs include accommodation on Sunday night (20 Oct). Program runs 21 – 23 October 2019
